Product Information
Re-Jeans is unique because it is not just a cotton yarn. It is a recycled yarn made from recycled denim cotton. The fibres come from remnants of jeans fabric which are dissolved and washed step by step down to the individual fibres. These fibres are then blended again and spun into a yarn. The recycling process gives the yarn a beautifully rustic and appealing structure. It is reminiscent of Bourette silk.
The fibres for Re-Jeans come from Italy and the yarn is spun and dyed for us in Portugal.
Re-Jeans is easy and comfortable to knit with because the thread does not split, as is often the case with "simple" cotton. Of course, it is also wonderful for crocheting!
This vegan yarn is perfect for light summer and autumn clothing such as cardigans and sweaters. Scarves or shawls made from re-jeans are great companions for those days in between seasons. As with other cotton, re-jeans can also be worn directly on the skin, making it ideal for people with sensitive skin for whom wool is too prickly.

Tip: It is advisable to always order enough yarn for your desired model to ensure you knit your entire project with yarn of the same dye batch. In case of doubt, please make a gauge sample immediately after receiving the yarn. In this way, you can estimate whether you have ordered sufficient quantity and, if necessary, reorder directly.
Care
Knitted garments with Re-Jeans can be washed in the washing machine at 104°F (40°C). It is advisable to use a mild detergent and choose a delicate cycle. Dry flat, preferably on a terry towel, to avoid stretching. Under no circumstances should you dry it directly on a heat source or in the blazing sun! If necessary, the knitted piece can be ironed at the lowest temperature setting. Read more about wool care in our blogpost here.
