Merino wool is one of the finest and most exclusive fibers out there – it has a unique luster and feels incredibly soft. Since it is highly elastic, merino clothing is comfortable, wrinkle-resistant, and keeps its shape. The fibers are extremely fine, so they don’t scratch the skin, making merino the first choice for people with sensitive skin.

Merino wool is also breathable and has excellent thermoregulating properties. It can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. That’s why merino keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer. The natural lanolin in the fibers also helps protect against odor-causing bacteria.

Our merino fibers come from Argentina. This certification pays special attention to animal welfare. It also guarantees safe working conditions, fair wages, and regulated working hours. Child labor is, of course, prohibited. Compliance with the standard is ensured through regular checks at every step of the production process: from the farm to washing, spinning, and dyeing.

Through a biotechnological process called Lanazym, the wool is treated with enzymes that reduce its tendency to felt and pill – while preserving all its natural properties.

Merino fibers have a spring-like structure, which makes them naturally resilient and highly elastic. They are also covered with a natural protective layer that prevents dirt from penetrating the fibers. The antibacterial properties of wool additionally reduce odor. Thanks to these self-cleaning qualities, it’s usually enough to simply air out merino clothing. If washing is necessary, Maximo knitwear can be easily machine-washed on a wool cycle at low temperatures. It won’t shrink or wrinkle!

Wunderschöne, weiche Wolle

Die Wolle ist wunderschön, weich, lässt sich einfach stricken. Allerdings gab es ein paar wenige Stellen eines Knäuels, wo die Wolle innerhalb des Knäuels verknotet wurde, was für mich als Strickanfängerin ein wenig schwieriger im Umgang war.
