Cashmere Charis

Cashmere Charis: The Magic of Luxury Fibers Brought to Life

Our yarn, Cashmere Charis, takes its name from one of the Graces in Greek mythology, that symbolizes charm, beauty, nature, and human creativity. Often depicted as a youthful maiden dancing and singing among the gods, Charis embodied grace and kindness, bringing joy and favor to both gods and mortals. In much the same way, Cashmere Charis will sprinkle your projects with grace and elegance and bring joy to your needles.

CASHMERE CHARIS

Luxurious Blend of Merino Wool and Cashmere

Our blend of 70% ultrafine organic Merino wool and 30% luxurious cashmere epitomizes quality and comfort. The Merino wool we use, which has a thickness of 17.5 microns, is of an exceptionally high-quality. Merino wool is prized for its softness, smoothness, and luxurious feel. This wool is sourced from the first shearing of Australian sheep from selected Mulesing-Free farms, certified by the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). The RWS is a global standard that ensures the welfare of sheep and the land they graze on. It guarantees that the wool comes from farms that follow strict guidelines regarding the welfare of the animals, environmental sustainability, and responsible land management practices.

Merino wool, is renowned for its exceptional quality, shine, and softness. Its long, strong fibers make it ideal for durable, comfortable clothing that remains stylish and functional over time. It is highly breathable and thermoregulating, keeping you warm in cold weather and cool when it's hot. It's hypoallergenic, making it suitable for sensitive skin and even baby garments. Additionally, it's eco-friendly, as it's biodegradable, and its antibacterial properties help resist water and prevent odors, making it a versatile and sustainable choice for various garments.

The addition of 30% luxurious cashmere, sourced from Mongolia with a fineness of 15.5 microns, further enhances Cashmere Charis to unparalleled levels of sophistication and comfort. Cashmere is a luxurious fiber known for its softness, strength, and lightness. It is also highly adaptable to temperature, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer. The fibers are collected through a laborious and scarce process. Only a small amount of pure cashmere can be obtained from each goat per year, making it a rare and coveted material in the world of knitting.
