PATTERN | OYSTER SHIRT

The oversized OYSTER SHIRT is worked from the bottom up in rounds to the armholes; then the front and back sections are continued separately in rows. For the deep neckline, you divide the front section in the middle and continue working straight. The front section is worked somewhat longer than the back so that the neck opening continues into the back section. The shirt’s alternating sections of lace and garter-stitch stripes combine to form a harmonious wave pattern. The contrasting colored edges at the bottom of the shirt and along the narrow armhole and neckline borders add special accents. The shirt is worked with two strands of yarn held together throughout.

The sizes correspond to the bust circumference as follows:
XS/S ( M/L; XL/XXL; 3XL/4XL; 5XL ) = 30–32 ( 35–39; 42–46; 50–54; 58 )” (= 76–82 ( 90–98; 107–11; 127–137; 147 ) cm) bust circumference (measured on the body).

The shirt has a very wide oversized fit with generous positive ease of 15–12.5 [ 15–11.75; 13.75–10; 11.5–7.5; 9 ]“ (= 38–32 [ 38–30; 35–25; 29–19; 23 ] cm) for an especially relaxed look.

Example: If your bust measurement is 35“ (90 cm), make the shirt in size M/L and it will have an oversized fit with approx. 15“ (38 cm) of positive ease, or choose size XS/S for a lightly oversized fit with approx. 9.5“ (24 cm).
