Cashmere 6/28 – One of Our Most Exclusive Cashmere Yarns

Our Cashmere 6/28 is an exceptionally high-quality and exclusive yarn made from pure cashmere. With its Fine/Sport weight, it's perfectly suited for a wide variety of projects.

For our cashmere qualities, we use only the soft, combed undercoat of cashmere goats. The fibers come from goats raised in the highlands of Mongolia. The yarn is spun and dyed in Italy – specifically at the renowned Cariaggi spinning mill, which is partially owned by Chanel and Brunello Cucinelli. Cariaggi produces some of the finest yarns in the world for leading luxury fashion houses and follows the highest quality standards. The company is also committed to environmental protection and holds several certifications, including RAF (Responsible Animal Fiber) and SFA (Sustainable Fibre Alliance).

The fiber and production of Cashmere 6/28 are SFA-certified.
This means that both the origin of the cashmere fiber and its processing in the mill meet strict environmental, animal welfare, and social responsibility standards. The SFA promotes sustainable grazing, fair labor practices, and respectful animal treatment.

You’ll feel the exceptional quality of Cashmere 6/28 from the very first stitch. We use ultra-fine cashmere fibers with a diameter of only 15.5 microns. The fibers are carefully inspected before spinning, then dyed, washed, steamed, and subjected to thorough quality checks – including tests for pilling and colorfastness.

This yarn is 6-ply twisted, making it smooth and easy to work with. It produces an even, elegant stitch definition and suits all types of patterns. Even in simple stockinette stitch, it looks refined and luxurious. Thanks to the fine and long fibers, it has a gentle halo and is significantly less prone to pilling than many other cashmere yarns.

Cashmere 6/28 is the perfect choice for lightweight yet warm sweaters, cardigans, and luxurious accessories such as scarves and hats. It is cozy, feather-light, and incredibly soft on the skin – even for those with sensitivities.

Important Note:
This product description refers to the production starting July 2025.

Some colorways are marked with an asterisk (*), indicating that they are discontinued colors from the previous production cycle. The current production has a slightly softer halo but maintains the same gauge and yardage. This means you can continue using older patterns for Cashmere 6/28 – and even combine old and new batches in one project. Once blocked, the knitted fabric will have a smooth and even appearance.

For colorways  06, 10, 26 and 56, there are significant color differences compared to the pre-July 2025 production. The images show the current shade.
