PATTERN | CRESTLINE SWEATER

The special feature of the stockinette-stitch CRESTLINE SWEATER is the scalloped lace edging – reminiscent of waves cresting just before they break – that decorates the front and back sections as well as the sleeves. The front and back of the sweater are worked in rounds up to the armholes and then continued separately in rows. At the same time, you work increases on both sides for the slightly dropped shoulders. The back section ends with sloped shoulders; the front is worked somewhat longer, with straight shoulders and a shallow neckline, shifting the shoulder seams slightly to the back. You work the sleeves in the same way as the body, from the bottom up, and sew them into the armholes at the end.

The sizes correspond to the bust circumference as follows:
XS/S ( M/L; XL/XXL; 3XL/4XL; 5XL ) = 30–32 ( 35–39; 42–46; 50–54; 58 )” (= 76–82 ( 90–98; 107–11; 127–137; 147 ) cm) bust circumference (measured on the body).

The sweater has a relaxed fit with dropped shoulders and an average positive ease of 3 to 8 inches (8–20 cm).

Example: If your bust measures 35“ (90 cm), make the sweater in size M/L: it will have a slightly oversized fit with 8“ (20 cm) of positive ease.

Tip: If you would like your sweater to have a somewhat oversized fit (like our model in the photos), then choose a size that will give you a positive ease of approx. 8” (20 cm). Example: if your bust measures 40” (102 cm), make the sweater in size XL/XXL: it will have a slightly oversized fit with 8.7” (22 cm) of positive ease. In size M/L, you would have approx. 3.1” (8 cm) of positive ease, and the sweater would fit more snugly.
