Cairo 4 is made from the soft undercoat of baby camels. The individual hairs are extremely fine with a fibre diameter of 16 to 20 microns. Therefore, the wool feels very soft on the skin and is comparable to cashmere. Cairo 4 has an evenly spun thread which makes it stable yet soft. The yarn has a light sheen and a very fine fluff. Due to the natural shades of the camel hair, the colours of Cairo 4 are rather muted.
Cairo 4 is pleasant to work with and has a very even stitch definition. It is perfect for all kinds of stitches and looks very elegant when knitted in stockinette stitch. The yarn is perfect for light but warm knitwear. The fibre is so delicate and fine that even people with sensitive skin can wear Cairo 4. Because the wool is so fine, it does not split or fluff when knitting, neither does it fluff when the finished garment is worn.
Cairo 4 is suitable for sweaters and cardigans as well as for accessories like shawls and hats.
It is advisable to always order enough yarn for your desired model to ensure you knit your entire project with yarn of the same dye batch. In case of doubt, please make a gauge sample immediately after receiving the yarn. In this way, you can estimate whether you have ordered sufficient quantity and, if necessary, reorder directly.
