Puno is a wonderfully soft blend of cotton and alpaca. Both the 70 percent GOTS certified cotton and the 30 percent GOTS certified alpaca come from Peru, where it is also spun for us.
We wanted to create a cotton yarn in different shades without having to dye the fiber. By combining it with undyed alpaca, we created a beautiful palette of subtle natural shades.
The blend of smooth cotton and fluffy alpaca make Puno a great all year round yarn that looks good knitted or crocheted. It has excellent stitch definition and can be used for any kind of textured stitch pattern. It is perfect for light tops and accessories like scarves and shawls, and is so pleasingly soft it can be worn next to the skin.
