Product information

Our Babyalpaca Los Andes is a wonderfully soft, thick yarn made of pure alpaca wool. This Bulky weight yarn makes it easy to knit wonderfully cosy garments.

Los Andes is made from the fleece of young alpacas and is, therefore, particularly fine and soft. The fibre comes from animals from the Andes highlands of Peru. Los Andes is only available undyed, in seven beautiful natural shades. The yarn is spun in Peru.

Babyalpaca Los Andes is a two-ply yarn. The voluminous yarn is nice to work with and has a very even stitch definition. Los Andes is perfect for all kinds of textured patterns, but also looks very nice in stockinette stitch. The wool has a soft fleece. Like all alpaca yarns, Los Andes is very robust despite its softness. Garments keep their shape and the yarn hardly pills.

Babyalpaca Los Andes is ideal for warm sweaters and jackets as well as accessories such as shawl and hats. It is warm and cosy and despite its thickness very light and soft on the skin. It is well tolerated even by people with sensitive skin. Because alpaca contains hardly any lanolin, it can also be worn by allergy sufferers.

Tip: It is advisable to always order enough yarn for your desired model to ensure you knit your entire project with yarn of the same dye batch. In case of doubt, please make a gauge sample immediately after receiving the yarn. In this way, you can estimate whether you have ordered sufficient quantity and, if necessary, reorder directly.
