Alpaca Fino is an extremely fine and soft yarn made from 100% pure baby alpaca wool. Being a DK/light weight yarn, it lends itself for just about any cozy, soft knitting or crochet project. The yarn is spun for us in Peru and is available in 20 shades ranging from natural white to pale pink and bright yellow to dark grey.
It is a 4 ply yarn with even stitch definition which is perfect for all kinds of stitch patterns, but knits up equally well in stockinette stitch. It is suitable for all sorts of projects from warm sweaters and cardigans to scarves and hats.
Alpaca Fino is a soft yarn and like all alpaca yarns it is extremely hard wearing. Garments will keep their shape with very little pilling. Because alpaca contains very little lanolin, it is perfect for people with the most sensitive skin.
Tip: It is advisable to always order enough yarn for your desired model to ensure you knit your entire project with yarn of the same dye batch. In case of doubt, please make a gauge sample immediately after receiving the yarn. In this way, you can estimate whether you have ordered sufficient quantity and, if necessary, reorder directly.

We recommend washing your knitwear made of Alpaca Fino by hand in lukewarm water with a mild wool detergent. Dry flat, preferably on a terry towel, to avoid stretching. Under no circumstances should you dry it directly on a heat source or in the blazing sun!

Read more about wool care in our blogpost here.
