Pascuali Camel DK– Hand in Hand with Our High Sustainability Standards
In the production of our natural yarns, we pay special attention to a sustainable supply chain that meets its social, ethical, and ecological responsibility. From the farm to the finished yarn, we stand for high standards in terms of environmental protection, animal welfare and working conditions.
Most of Inner Mongolia's camel wool is produced by breeders who have been caring for Bactrian camels for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. They harvest camel wool using the same methods that have been passed down from one generation to the next.
Harvesting this type of fibre is quite a sustainable and cruelty-free enterprise. Every year, the Bactrian camel starts to grow a thick coat of hair towards the end of the summer. By midwinter, this coat reaches its full thickness and is quite robust. In the spring, the Bactrian camel sheds its coat. Once all the hair has fallen off, it is collected and cleaned to remove any impurities. Instead of the typical single or plied yarn, is a chained yarn.
